Have any of you heard of this? Running a lamb backwards on a treadmill?

You really need to talk to someone with experience before starting this. we walked back legs only but never tried running them. You will end up with a busted up lamb if running. walked them backwards maximum of 5 minutes three days a week.

We usually have 3 of us around the lamb when we treadmill. Usually a kid on the front, kid on one side and me on the other with my hand on the STOP switch. Never really had a problem but I know the first time we don't watch so close, we will have a problem.

How soon before a show would you need to start this to see results?

lamb has to have the propensity to develope muscle. If he is flat muescled, you can walk them backward all you want. That skinny 105 lb wrestler can lift all the weights he wants. If he does not have the genetics to develope muscle he will not. Same with lambs. How long does it take? Think about teenage boys weight lifting. It takes a long time to make any measureable difference. Can you make this area firmer. Yes. Can you "build It " Probably not in the lambs lifetime. Most of these things make a very sublte difference. It makes more of an impression in the trainers mind. that they are doing something to help build the lambs. They "want" to see a difference, so they "see" more muscle shape. That is the power of positive thinking. That muscle is bred on, not built. It has to here, or it will not work..

You can tear one`s pasterns up real quick on a treadmill if not careful. Less is sometimes more walk backwards, not run
