This is probably a stupid question, but I am going to throw it out there anyway. My daughter is in her second year of showing lambs. She has a spirited lamb this year that now outweighs her by 10 pounds and will be more later. The lamb has the bad habit of jumping up when she tries to brace it. We have tried pushing it off a stage, backing it into a fence, nothing seems to work. She is worried it will not break this habit before fair. She has a hard time making it brace right anyway because it wants to back up all the time. Thanks experts for any information you might have!

sometimes it helps to have someone bigger brace the lamb for awhile until it learns what its supposed to do then she can try and hopfully it works she just cant get upset and try and try agian also id try differnt ways to brace some lambs find different sides of the leg better like some perfer the right leg and brace then slowly she can start changing to the left leg

Thanks lamgod for your input. We will give that a try. Right now we are trying to stand it on a stand for 1/2 hour a day and hope that will settle the jumping thing down. The bracing thing we will have to work on somehow. He braces perfectly on stage, but on the ground, wants to back up.
