| | Is it ok to keep one lamb alone? I will have one in a couple of weeks and the rest of the animals in the barn will not be there until a few months later. Just wondering if being alone with no other lambs will affect them in any way as far as how they thrive.

| | In my opinion, it is always better to some other animal whiter it be a goat or a lamb but that's just me.

| | The lamb will adjust eventually, but sheep are always happier with a buddy. I usually recommend to my buyers that they get two lambs. You might consider getting a ewe lamb too that you can show in the breeding class.

| | sheep are flocking animals and they don't like to be alone, sometimes it stresses them to the point of losing weight, another lamb is a good ideal maybe even you can barrow one.

| | I doubt a lamb would consider a radio equal companionship to another lamb. Just saying.
With that said, years ago my little sister had a "lone" lamb that had been baaing it's head off for several days. It would settle down if anyone was out there with it, but as soon as we'd leave, it would start up again. We ended up putting a great big teddy bear out there with it and I'll be darned if that lamb didn't bond to that bear. Here's a picture of it. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f216/EmsoffLambs/Friends.jpg

| | I have a plywood cut out painted like a real lamb. It works great to stand up in a trailer or in a pen next to a single lamb. They can be easily fooled. We call him the "ride buddy"

| | Since you will be getting another one in a couple weeks (if I read that right) I wouldn't worry too much. It will probably fuss for a few days but will settle in. We have a school barn and this year one lamb came in about two weeks before the rest of the lambs and now hes the friendliest and calmest one in the group.
